Web hotel
A web hotel is a service that makes it possible to publish a website on the internet and to use e-mail, without your own server. A computer that runs web server software is called a web server. All websites that you can find on the internet is downloaded from one or more of these web servers. A web hotel has an internet connected computer, a – web server – where multiple users can put theirs websites on.

Domain name
To be able to publish a website on the internet you need a domain name. A domain name contains different kind of parts. The different parts are separated by dots. In the example of http://www.crystone.se the first part is the domain and the last part after the dots is the top level domain. There are many different kinds of top level domains. The first group is the country Top level domains such as:

• .DE (http://www.denic.de) - Germany
• .DK (http://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/) - Denmark

The second group is the generic top level domain, ex .COM, .NET or .ORG.
